Whenever l see strobe lights, l feel very disoriented. The same with any kind of flashing lights, really, especially fluorescent lights. I've never had a seizure. Is it normal for me to feel this way?

could i possibly have a mild case of epilepsy

Blinking lights can bring on seizures in anyone. When u get an EEG, one of the things they do is blink lights at u on purpose to see if it triggers anything in ur brain. Also, my friend & her husband used to go to Grateful Dead shows, & they had some kind of toy that people could blow into, & it would make spinning blinking lights in some goggles, & she saw more than one person who DID NOT have epilepsy have a seizure brought on by that.

The fact that u r so sensitive in general leads me to believe it is possible u do have a mild case of epilepsy. There r many kinds, & it can be controlled, generally, with medication. You might want to mention it to ur doctor the next time u see him or her, because even if u do not have classic epilepsy, a small seizure from another kind can trigger the electrical storm in ur head which leads to a Grand Mal seizure. The lights can also cause other problems, like migraines. I know, because they think that is part of what causes mine--they think (but cannot be sure), that I might have a type called temporal lobe epilepsy. All I know is blinking lights can bring on a migraine very quickly.

Get yourself checked out. It is better to find out & control it with medicine than to leave it & have a big episode.

Be well.
