Epilepsy is usually easily discernible, even for a lay person. If one suffers from epilepsy, it will be obvious.

There have been significant breakthroughs in the last few years in medications which can, in many cases, completely eliminate the seizures or more nuanced episodes associated with epilepsy. The epilepsy usually cannot be cured, in a clinical sense, but the symptoms can usually be mollified to the point where they do not disrupt the life process.

If you live in the US then contact your local Federal Healthcare Program as they are available to you all over the US. I did not have healthcare and finally found a local primary care doctor that was willing to work with me for 20 dollars a day. They serve as a Primary care doctor and refer you accordingly to a specialist.
